The new Parkland Library replaced the former library that was located in City Hall. The design of the new library is flexible for the changing technology and delivery of electronic information. The design considered ongoing maintenance, replacement and repair needs, allowing easy access to the mechanical and electrical systems for maintenance and repair without interruption to the patrons and staff.
The new library included a meeting room to accommodate 150 people in an auditorium style and table seating arrangement with a portable stage.
A designated space in the children’s area was designed to easily accommodate a group of 25 with minimal disruption of the multimedia equipment used for presentations, puppet shows and other programs.
