DESIGN ARCHITECT in Orlando Office

We are searching for a passionate, Design Architect with a strong desire to be a collaborative and integral core team member who will help influence the advancement of design excellence within the firm. This individual will be expected to work directly with the firm’s leadership to pursue, win, and develop designs.
Additionally, the individual we are seeking should have experience working on a range of building types. They should be a proven self-starter, be able to identify areas of growth or opportunity and develop projects/concepts with minimal direction, work well under pressure, and be able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks often with competing deadlines. They should have experience managing consultants, contractors, and clients while mentoring a team to complete high quality work in a self-motivated but collaborative manner.
Responsibilities and qualifications we are searching for include:
Essential Skills:
- Ability to be a creative and critical thinker who can test and execute design solutions with some guidance or in a core collaborative design team
- Actively engage in the advancement of project design and development consistent with project goals and objectives with some oversight by firm leadership and Project Managers
- Ability to effectively communicate, interact with, and present design ideas to clients and internal team members
- Must exhibit excellent design thinking using various mediums (minimum required: Sketch-Up, Revit (modeling) and Adobe Creative Suite):
- Craft high-quality presentations, renderings, models and drawing support (pending critical project deadlines)
- Knowledge of major building systems, research building materials/systems, select products and proactively integrate into a design solution and communicate with project teams
- Promote a highly collaborative environment on a project-specific basis
Qualifications:
- Professional degree in architecture from an accredited program with State of Florida architectural license or ability to get reciprocity
- 8+ years of experience in an architectural office
- Flexibility to work in a collaborative environment with a focused core team, as well as independently
- Strong graphic skills and design capability to critically think through the development of a design
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly organized individual

SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER in Orlando, Sarasota and Southwest Florida Offices
We are looking for energetic, collaborative, creative interior designers to join our team. We are a 40-year, Orlando-based company built on a strong, positive reputation and we are committed to excellence in everything we do. Primary Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Become an integral team member on projects, responsible for the development of interior design and documentation, both drawing and specifying of interiors related scope of work and all design phases.
- It is expected that you will assist in the design, development and documentation of FF&E packages along with the development and/or review of FF&E budgets.
- We will expose you to our full range of project types with the opportunity to leverage your design talent to enhance the overall interior design for projects with which you are involved. The studio heavily relies on interior design and we expect to be able to rely on you as a resource to answer questions, facilitate guidance and recommendations on interior aspects of other projects you may not be intimately involved with.
- There may be periods of time during which purely “interior design” work may be unavailable/unnecessary. During these periods, you should expect to participate with project teams in assisting with preparation of architectural design/production work including drafting and rendering that may not be strictly “interior design” in nature.
- We expect that you will engage the firm, its standards, policies, procedures, and culture in an effort to strengthen and improve your skills holistically including design, technical, production, and assist with construction administration, including responses to RFIs, submittal review, and on occasion site observation.

PUBLIC SAFETY ARCHITECT / PROJECT MANAGER in Orlando and Sarasota Offices
SchenkelShultz, is looking for a passionate, self-starter, technically-proficient Public Safety Project Architect with a strong appreciation for design excellence. Candidate must be proficient in development of construction documents including drawings and specifications with the ability to take minimal instruction and go forward with projects or project components.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to interact with clients and demonstrate communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient at executing design development and construction documentation phases of work that are consistent with project goals and objectives with minimal oversight
- Responsible for monitoring of scope, schedule and budget on architectural aspects of projects.
- Responsible for developing architectural work plans and tasking, supervision and mentoring of assigned project personnel.
- Ability to communicate ideas using SketchUp, Revit and Adobe Creative Suite.
- General knowledge of major building systems and ability to proactively lead coordination with engineers to maintain design intent and project goals.
- Provide assigned collateral duties relative to the operation of the team.
- Perform code analysis.
- Ability to research building materials, product selection and coordinate specifications with firm’s specifications writer.
- Assist construction administrator assigned to project with review/process of submittals/RFIs, job site visits and attend some meetings as part of learning process.
Qualifications:
- Professional degree in architecture or Masters of Architecture degree from an accredited program is required.
- Individuals with State of Florida architectural license or ability to become licensed within a year are preferred.
- 7+ years minimum of relevant (Municipal, Law Enforcement, Public Safety and Government experience preferred) in an architectural office.
- Proactive individual with a sense of urgency to multi-task on multiple projects and assignments with flexibility to work in collaborative environment with a team and independently.
