Global UCF Wins The LEED® NC Project of the Year Award

The SchenkelShultz designed Global UCF Building for the University of Central Florida won the 2017 LEED® NC (New Construction) Project of the Year Award presented by the United States Green Building Council – Central Florida Region.  The design and construction of the LEED® Gold certified Building required a balance of innovative planning, design and sustainability. The energy saving design solutions for the building included a cost-efficient and effective chilled beam system, optimized glazing and LED lighting. Through collaboration with the Owner, the design team opted to use a chilled beam system as the primary means of cooling for the building, which is four-times more efficient than traditional air distribution.
