The Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) program at Booker High School has established a legacy as an award-winning, robust and enriching magnet arts education that has impacted the lives of students and the community. The renovation project redesigns the existing theater into a place that is truly extraordinary for Booker High School’s performers, students and community. The renovations to this intimate VPA theater captures the character and tradition of the school’s rich history, while elevating the production, technology, acoustics, systems and function of the space. Upon completion, the theater will have an expanded lobby and seating, a black box theater, classroom and auxiliary spaces.
