UCF Communications and Media Building
University of Central Florida
Connected to the Dr. Phillips Academic Center at the UCF Downtown Campus, is the Communications and Media Building (CMB). The facility is home to the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy, the Center for Research and Education in Arts, Technology and Entertainment (CREATE), and the Nicholson School of Communication.
The existing building required improvements to create a student-focused, modern learning environment. The facility includes new and renovated classrooms with flexible and movable furniture and state-of-the-art technology. The collaborative student learning environments include maker spaces, a gaming research area in which students learn to build and repair gaming systems, including electronic board assembly. Additional spaces include a virtual reality lab, computer labs, teaming spaces and offices.
