DeLand Fire Station #81

DeLand, FL

City of DeLand

The City of DeLand’s Fire Station 81 has been a prominent community fixture for over 50 years. What started as a volunteer station has become an integral part of the Historic Downtown landscape. Located two blocks from Main Street, the replacement station creates synergy among the adjacent City Hall, Police Station and Post Office, honoring public safety’s presence in the heart of the DeLand. The 15,780 SF interior program blends health, safety and training principles with a design centered on rapid response times. With 4 drive-through apparatus bays, the Fire Department can house up to 8 apparatus. The fire station also includes separate areas for decontamination and gear storage, fitness area, offices, bunk rooms, kitchen, lounge and a multi-purpose space that can be used for training, education and by the local community for meetings and events. The facility also includes a training tower for confined space, rappelling and hose training.
