Oak Ridge High School
Orlando, FL
Orange County Public Schools
The goal of updating the historically-rich Oak Ridge High School campus was to create a state-of-the-art 21st century learning environment. The classroom buildings are centered on learning hubs that accommodate a variety of activities, including large group instruction, small group meetings and one-on-one instruction. Glazing between the traditional classrooms and the learning hubs creates a visual and physical connection between the spaces. An entrepreneurship academy gives students the opportunity to learning in a highly adaptive and collaborative TEAL (technology enabled active learning) lab to foster hands-on skills. The multi-phased 334,098 SF replacement project also included a new front door to the campus, new administration suite, media center, gymnasium and a new state-of-the-art auditorium.
