Ronald McDonald House at Nemours

Ronald McDonald Charities of Central Florida

In times of critical need, the Ronald McDonald House at Nemours Children’s Health provides a haven for families mere steps away from their child during a medical crisis. The design provides an environment that evokes a sense of hope and comfort in challenging times, creating a positive atmosphere where healing takes precedence.

Vibrant colors add a whimsical touch, mirroring the hues of the neighboring Nemours Children’s Hospital. Lively tones, playful patterns, and tinted glass lift the spirits of the residents and foster an inviting environment throughout their stay.

A healing garden and playground offers guests a place of refuge and escape during their stay. The garden embraces the therapeutic properties of environmental design through its use of native landscaping, seating, and open green spaces.
As a vital support system for Orlando's pediatric healthcare services in Lake Nona, families find a much-needed respite during extended hospital stays at the Ronald McDonald House. Evoking a comfortable, home-like environment, the design features individual guest suites, a community kitchen, dining area, living room, lounge, and laundry room. All of these spaces are designed to maximize natural light, foster a connection to the outdoors, and enhance physical and mental well-being of the building occupants.
“Ronald McDonald House at Nemours is a home away from home for families in need, providing respite and support during a child's medical crisis.”
