Shannon Staub Public Library

The Shannon Staub Public Library is part of a joint-use project on a shared site with Suncoast Technical College’s new North Port campus. The collaboration between Sarasota County Schools and Sarasota County Government created a single shared building that provides students and the North Port community with a 21st century library.

The new 23,321 SF library features an inviting lobby space, multi-media collection of print and digital resources, including an adult, young adult and children’s collections, meeting and study rooms, as well as a high-tech teen center. A unique feature is the Fabrication Laboratory (Fab Lab) space that provides an array of flexible, computer-controlled tools allowing users to create, learn and make things on the lab’s high-tech equipment.
