University of Central Florida and Valencia College
The University of Central Florida (UCF) and Valencia College partnered to create a new campus centrally located in Downtown Orlando. The first new building on the campus is the state-of-the art Dr. Phillips Academic Commons, designed by SchenkelShultz, and Robert A.M. Stern Architects. The building creates a world-class environment for digital media, communication, public service, and health-related programs for students at both UCF and Valencia College. Transforming the way students live and learn in this new urban context, the innovative, 21st century facility has collaborative learning spaces, classrooms, offices, computer labs, media commons / library, and space for academic and community events.
