Westside K-8 School

Kissimmee, FL

The School District of Osceola County

SchenkelShultz’s elementary school prototype design for The School District of Osceola County was adapted to create Westside K-8 School. The 171,838 SF school includes PK-5 and 6-8 academic spaces, administration, cafeteria, media center, gymnasium, music and art suites and a career education wing with business, health occupational, technology and family/consumer science labs. The school is an integral part of the community with the core elements located at the front of the school for convenient after-hours use. In addition, the design incorporated sensible sustainable design strategies that resulted in an environmentally friendly school at no additional cost.
