UF Newell Hall Holds Grand Opening Event
On April 17th, a Grand Opening Event was held for the University of Florida’s Newell Hall Renovation designed by SchenkelShultz, in association with Robert A.M. Stern Architects. The renovations transform the historic building into a state-of-the-art, 21st century Active Learning Commons. The 36,000 SF facility offers a first-of-its-kind campus environment that promotes innovation, flexibility and accessibility. The unique design created spaces on each of the building’s four floors that embody the concepts of collaboration, focus, interaction and rejuvenation. The new learning commons is an open environment that meets the needs of current and future students, and is equipped with flexible furniture to facilitate active technology-rich learning occurring throughout the building.
